Recommended Installation Procedure:
CMI Mark 1 TDR floor safes may be installed in either concrete or timber floors. The opening in floor should be at least 510mm (20") square by 560 deep.
The safe should be secured with a strong mix concrete of at least 40 megapascals (6000 P.S.I.) compressive strength. Steel reinforcing material can also be used to help bond the concrete and provide better security. It is recommended that the mix be poured so that a concrete cover of at least 104mm (4") exists around each side of the safe.
The topping can be brought up to the floor level, but allow about 3mm (1/8") for the lid to lift on to the frame of the safe and finish flush with floor.
In damp situations the concrete should contain a water proofing agent such as "Silasec" or "Yurite" (available from hardware stores). Whilst the concrete is setting the door should be left open for 24 hours.

Suggested insurable cash rating for Mark 1 TDR in an unsupported (no alarms) domestic situation is $40,000.
